County lifts burn ban

LAWTON – Comanche County’s burn ban is over.   The Comanche County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Monday to lift the prohibition on outdoor burning, based on a recommendation from Emergency Management Director Clint Langford.

Lady O’s season ends during Regional tournament

Elgin 6 Westmoore 10 Elgin 0 Choctaw 19   Elgin traveled to Choctaw to take place in the Class 6A Slow-pitch Regional. The first foe for the Lady O’s was the Westmoore Lady Jaguars. The Lady Jags got out to an early lead scoring two runs in the top of the third inning.

Elgin's Crawds 'n rods festival set for May 14

ELGIN – The 18th annual Crawds ’n Rods festival, benefiting the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department, will be held in downtown Elgin on Saturday, May 14.

Tornado hits Caddo County

CYRIL – A twister that swept into Caddo County Monday night has been classified as an EF-1 tornado, according to the National Weather Service. John Pike, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said a damage assessment was conducted to determine the tornado’s intensity and strength.
