Two killed in Saturday collision

COMANCHE COUNTY — A Sterling resident and an additional, unidentified passenger died Saturday, Nov. 14 in a collision with another vehicle on State Highway 17, east of Sterling. An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report indicates the collision occurred around 6:38 p.m. Saturday on S.H. 17 at N.E.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesperson said Wednesday an Elgin police officer involved in a collision with another driver Fri- day, Nov. 13 on U.S. 277 in Elgin was not at fault for the accident.

Fletcher ushers in autumn with traditional Fall Festival, adds new Miss Fall Fest contest

The Fletcher community gathered Saturday to welcome the season in the newly paved downtown area. The Fletcher Fall Street Festival ran from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This year’s events were organized by Eden Smith and Nettie Fisher. The pair worked tirelessly along with the help of many other volunteers.
