Sterling adopts watering restrictions

STERLING –The Town of Sterling is taking steps to reduce its water usage amid a heat wave. Starting July 19, officials asked residents whose addresses end in an even number to water their yards only on even-numbered days. People whose addresses end in an odd number may water on odd-numbered days.

Lady O's return eight starters for new season

STERLING – It’s been 14 years since the Sterling Tigers won a state softball title, but longtime coach Marty Curry believes this season bring another golden trophy. “We’ve got a chance to be very good,” he said. “We expect to be very competitive and return to the state tournament.

Free training for area firefighters

STERLING – Local firefighters are invited to attend an 8-hour lifesaving training on Saturday, Aug. 6. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oklahoma State University’s Fire Service Training will hold its New Vehicle Technology workshop at the Sterling Volunteer Fire Department, 222 W. James St. in Sterling.

Harley gear shop opening soon in Medicine Park

MEDICINE PARK – Fans of the iconic Harley-Davidson motorcycles will soon have a new place to get their gear in southwest Oklahoma.
