No one was injured and no buildings were damaged when a grass fire broke out earlier this week at the northwest corner of NE Cline Road and Northeast 135th Street, located in northeast Comanche County.
The Sterling Fire Department responded to the grass fire at about 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, Alana Pack, deputy director of emergency management for Comanche County-Lawton Emergency Management, said in a news release.
“Upon arrival, firefighters found a fast-moving grass fire in tall grass and began firefighting operations,” Pack said.
She said firefighters had the blaze under control by 6:30 p.m.
Responding agencies include the fire departments for Sterling, Elgin, Fletcher, Cox’s Store, Hulen, Valley View, Flower Mound, Medicine Park, Edgewater Park and Meers; Kirk’s EMS; Comanche County Eastern District; Comanche County Sheriff’s Department; and Comanche County-Lawton Emergency Management.
