FLETCHER — Friends of the Elgin Community Library’s annual fall book sale is set for Sept. 15-17 at the Fletcher Fairgrounds.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, the book sale is expected to attract readers from across the area as well as neighbors from Texas and Kansas, Elgin Community Library Director Leslie Durham previously told Southwest Chronicle.

Ever growing in popularity, this year’s three-day affair is slated as the biggest book sale in the event’s history, the Friends of ECL reported.
Thousands of books will be available, nearly all priced from 25 cents to $1, said Friends of ECL member Jeanne Cook. A few premium books will be priced higher, primarily rare vintage titles and collector items. Buyers will find wide variety of books besides fiction for adults, teens, and children. Topics include history, politics, biography, home and garden, hobby, cookbooks, homeschooling, religion, true crime, Christian fiction, romance, Western, science fiction, and fantasy, Cook added.

A good number of 500- and 1000-piece puzzles will be included as will hundreds of DVDs at only 50 cents apiece.

Transactions must be paid by cash or checks only. Proceeds from the book sale will benefit library events as well future expansion endeavors.

Several mobile dining possibilities are scheduled for the event. Gormandizers may feast on cuisine by Yard Jerk Chicken (Thursday 9-6), M&D Good Eats (Thursday 10-2), and Tony’s Snowcones (Thursday 10-6); Munchies and More Delivery Service will be available Thursday and Friday, and TY’s Place is scheduled 12-6 Thursday and Friday.

The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high in the mid-90s.

Fletcher Fairgrounds is located at 501 W. North Drive in Fletcher.
