ELGIN – People looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday might want to stop by the Elgin Family Fall Festival.

The Elgin Chamber of Commerce is hosting the brand-new event, which will run from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Elgin baseball field. Business sponsors are Connection Church, Hilliary, Arvest Bank, Sonic, Snider Family Exotics, Puppy Love Dog Grooming, My Little Pearl Bowtique, Elgin Rodeo Association, Apache Farmers Co-op of Elgin, Wing-T’s, RV Connections, Luscious Lashes, AgDefense/Time Savers, Cintas, Ruff Draff Productions, Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM, Southwest Power Equipment and Trail of Fear.

The festival will offer a variety of activities, including bounce houses, carnival games and a best-dressed pet contest. Live entertainment, food vendors and arts-and-crafts vendors will also be part of the mix.

My Little Bowtique is sponsoring the festival’s Miss and Mr. Fall Pageant, open to children ages 0-12. Contestants will be judged in two categories, Best Fall Dressed and Most Photogenic, and the winners will be announced at 3 p.m. the day of the festival.

Contestants must be present to win.

Chamber officials hope the festival will attract people who are looking for a fun way to spend a fall day, Chamber President Leslie Durham told the Southwest Chronicle in July.

“I think it’s going to be a good thing for the entire community,” she said.
