LAWTON – Comanche County has hired a company to install new cameras in the Comanche County Courthouse.

The Comanche County Board of Commissioners voted 2-0 Monday to approve a contract with Broken Arrow-based York Electronic Systems Inc., which will install panoramic cameras in stairwell landings at the courthouse. Commissioner Johnny Owens was absent.

In addition to putting new cameras in the stairwell landings, York will replace an existing analog camera in the legal office on the first floor of the courthouse, according to the contract.

The project will cost $24,163, which will come out of the county’s share of American Rescue Plan Act dollars. ARPA provides financial assistance for local units of government coping with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
