MEDICINE PARK – It’s that time of the year again! Time to get into the Christmas spirit in Medicine Park.

Medicine Park’s Christmas Carnival will commence downtown at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, with Santa’s parade beginning at 2 p.m., according to event coordinator Dwight Cope.

Cope told Southwest Chronicle that paradegoers will witness Santa Claus riding down East Lake Drive in a fire truck, amongst decorated floats, horses, loads of antique cars and much more, including contests and games for folks of all ages.

“All the local shops will also be open, selling stuff, including the new businesses that have recently opened,” Cope said.

Yolanda Ramos, Medicine Park’s town clerk, said the city is urging businesses along the parade route to attract kids and visitors with cornhole games and croquet, for instance.

“There will be pony rides in Hitchin’ Post Park,” said Ramos, who added that Santa Claus will be handing out treats and taking pictures with the children.

The Christmas Carnival and Santa Parade conclude at 6 p.m.
