LAWTON – Country-music star Chris Cagle will be performing Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Apache Casino Hotel Event Center in Lawton.
Cagle’s Nashville country-music career kicked off at the dawn of the 21st century when Virgin Nashville released Cagle’s October 2000 debut – Play It Loud – to widespread acclaim.
Born in DeRidder, Louisiana, in 1968 – a town founded by railroad visionary Arthur Stilwell – and growing up in towns across Texas, Cagle loved music from an early age. One of the singles from Play It Loud, “Laredo,” incorporated a Texas place name as the title, after being inspired by Glen Campbell’s 1969 song “Galveston,” which was actually recorded a few weeks after Cagle’s birth. Cagle’s success seemed destined.
Between 2001 and 2015, Cagle kept up a very busy schedule of album releases, lengthy tours and even a marriage or two – not to mention some brushes with the law. It adds some truth to the title of his 2008 album My Life’s Been a Country Song.
Regardless, Cagle is bringing his breezy, honest country music to the Apache Casino Hotel this Saturday, heading back out on the tour circuit after retiring seven years ago.
He has a reputation for being fun and engaging with the audience, so it should be a fun show as he performs hits including “Chicks Dig It,” “What A Beautiful Day,” “Let There Be Cowgirls” and “Country By The Grace of God,” among many others.
Lee Bayless, manager of the Apache Casino Hotel Event Center told Southwest Chronicle that Lawton’s key entertainment destination is excited about the concert and more on the horizon.
“Apache Casino Hotel is Oklahoma’s best concert venue with intimate seating for 1,000 guests,” Bayless said. “Our star-studded lineup features some of the best artists around (including) Lonestar on Oct. 7 and Chicago on Oct. 30.”
Bayless added that if you purchase your concert ticket at ApacheCasinoHotel.com, you don’t pay ticket fees.
“The price you see is the price you pay. You can also purchase tickets at our cashiers cage on the casino floor. Slot machines, table gaming, restaurants, hotel, concerts all in one great location.”
Cagle is taking his fall 2022 tour across the U.S., with stops in his home state of Louisiana; Wisconsin; Illinois; Virginia; Alabama and Colorado.
Doors open at the Event Center at 6:30 p.m. with the concert scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices range between $25 and $65.
