The Elgin-Weatherford varsity basketball games have been rescheduled for Feb. 11 at Weatherford.

The varsity girls will play at 1 p.m., and the varsity boys will play at 2:30 p.m. The game was initially set for Jan. 24 but was postponed due to inclement weather.

The game forces Elgin to play back-to-back matchups, since the Owls will host Kingfisher on Feb. 10. The Weatherford Eagles are ranked No. 3 in Class 4A, and the Lady Eagles are ranked No. 5 in 4A. Both Elgin teams are unranked.

In addition, the games set for Jan. 31 against Blanchard have been rescheduled for Monday. The varsity girls will play at 6:30 p.m., and the varsity boys will play at 8 p.m.

Also, the homecoming ceremony set for Monday has been moved to Tuesday, when Elgin hosts Chickasha. The festivities will be held prior to the girls varsity game.

In addition, seniors from the boys team will be recognized at halftime of the girls game, and the seniors from the girls team will be honored at halftime of the boys game.

The Jan. 31 games and homecoming were rescheduled due to another round of inclement weather that included sleet and icy road conditions throughout most of the state.
