What is with this weather!? Not only is it a slow time for high school sports, but the weather is playing havoc with the schedules. Elgin’s baseball camp has been rescheduled, and the summer seasons have been put on hold until the ground dries out.

Bulldogs get bounced in Regional Tournament

Cache 1 Blanchard 14 Cache 11 Harrah 9 Cache 8 Clinton 9   Cache traveled into the Lions’ Den in Blanchard for the Regional Tournament. The Lions played rude hosts, jumping out to an eight run lead after the first inning of play.

Owls grounded in Regional Final

Elgin 4 Del City 1 Elgin 3 Carl Albert 7 Elgin 10 Del City 2 Elgin 0 Carl Albert 11   Elgin Baseball made the trip north up I-44 for the Regional Tournament at Carl Albert. However, their first opponent was another Mid-Del school: the Del City Eagles.

Where did the spring weather go? Or did we even actually have a spring? We went from wearing hoodies one day to trying out how beat the 100 degree weather the next. With school nearing the end, it is time to turn out attention to summer camps and the pending school “dead period.

OKC Thunder strikes huge on Lottery Night

With year two of the Thunder tank in the books, OKC had promising odds coming into the draft lottery for the 2022 NBA Draft. The Lottery is just as it sounds -- the bottom 14 teams in the league all get thrown into a pot for random adds as to the top 14 picks in that year’s draft.

Elgin Boys Track

Elgin boys track team was crowned the Class 5A Academic State Champions with a grade point average of 3.948.

The NCAA has been busy the last few weeks and it was no different this week.  The NCAA Division I Council removed the limit on the number of scholarship players teams can sign each year and cleared the road for conferences to eliminate divisions.
