UT-Tyler defeats Cameron in volleyball opener

LAWTON – Cameron’s volleyball team lost in the Lone Star Conference opener to University of Texas-Tyler in straight sets inside the Aggie Gym last Friday.
Tyler won 25-17, 25-16 and 25-11.
Arianna Navarrete led the Aggies with seven kills and nine digs.

OKLAHOMA CITY – While bull riding has traditionally been an independent sport, professional bull riders – via PBR (Professional Bull Riders) – are now appearing on bull-riding teams, as is the case of the newly formed Oklahoma Freedom, based in Oklahoma City.

Cameron golfers finish 5th at Swam Memorial

DENVER – Ashley Davis led the Cameron women’s golf team turning in a top-10 finish at the Swam Memorial at the Todd Creek Golf Club. The Aggies tied for fifth as a team.
Davis carded a three-round score of 74-81-71—226, placing her in seventh.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Cameron men’s golf team turned in a third-place finish to open the season at The Writz at Mile High at the Bear Creek Golf Club.
Trevor Mierl led the Aggies after shooting a 4-under in the final round, earning a three-way tie for fourth.

LAWTON – Belle Vignes of the Cameron women’s cross country team started the season off with a bang, winning the individual crown at the Aggie Duels last Saturday at the Big Green Soccer Complex in Lawton.
Vignes won with a time of 18 minutes 44 seconds.

Tigers suffer disappointing loss on walk-off single

STERLING – Sterling suffered a disappointing 5-4 loss Monday when Fort Cobb-Broxton tallied a run off a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Sterling had a chance in the top of the seventh when a base running error cost the Tigers a chance to take the lead.
