Oklahoma 8 (No. 1) – Central Florida 0 (No. 5)

Oklahoma 7 – Central Florida 1

NORMAN – Oklahoma stayed at home as they were making their 12th straight Super Regional appearance, and their 14th in the last 15 years.

The Sooners welcomed the University of Central Florida Knights into Marita Hynes Field for the best of three series.

The home run queen herself, Jocelyn Alo, got the offense started in game one when she smashed a groundball. That forced an error allowing Jayda Coleman to score on the play to give OU the early lead.

Sooner bats came to life in the second inning when J Coleman doubled in a pair to make it 3-0.

Alo added another to her already record-breaking total as she drove a 2-0 pitch over the center-field wall to make it 6-0 Sooners.

In the third inning Oklahoma continued the run parade as Kinzie Hansen hit a sacrifice fly to score Grace Lyons; Jana Johns doubled into the gap, driving in a run to make it 8-0.

OU held on to take the victory in game one. That win put them one win away from the World Series.

Oklahoma came out ready to go in the deciding game.

Alyssa Brito singled a run early in the first inning to give her squad a 1-0 lead.

The score stayed the same until the third inning when Lyons drove a ball over the left-field wall to double Sooner lead.

In the fourth inning, with two runners on, Lyons stepped up to bat for the second straight inning. And for the second straight inning, she drove a pitch over the outfield wall – this time for a three-run shot to make it 5-0 ballgame.

Sooner bats were red hot as Johns drove a home run in the fifth. Alo drove one over the fence in the sixth to give Oklahoma a commanding seven-run lead.

In the sixth inning, the Knights scored for the first time in the Super Regional when Jada Cody drove a ball over the fence to make it 7-1.

Sooners took the victory and advanced to their sixth straight Women’s College World Series. This makes Oklahoma’s 10th time in the past 11 years to advance to the WCWS.

OU kicked things off Thursday in Oklahoma City as they took on No. 9 Northwestern Oklahoma State. Starting at 1:30 p.m. Central, that game was televised on ESPN. Scores were not available as of press time.
