Owls swept by Duncan in district play

Elgin traveled to Duncan on Monday, April 11, to take on the Demons for a district contest. Grady Thomas and Case Clemons drove in runs to give Elgin an early 2-0 lead. The Demons tied and took the lead with seven runs in the fourth inning. The Demons then added on one run in the fifth inning to stretch the lead all the way out to eight runs. After another shutdown inning, Duncan scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning capped off by a walk off three run home run. The Owls hosted the Demons the next day looking to split the doubleheader. Tres Lorah gave Elgin an early lead to make it 1-0. The Demons tied up the game with one run in the top of the second inning. Duncan took the lead away in the third inning with a five run spot in the inning. The Demons brought one run across in the fourth and fifth innings to stretch the lead all the way out to seven runs. Elgin chipped into the lead in the sixth inning when Damien Callagy had an RBI groundout to score Phillip Pryor to cut the lead down to six runs. The Owls were not able to muster some late inning magic and dropped both games of the district series
