Out of Bounds

Getting Close

Folks, we have reached that time of year that if you are not a baseball fan there is not much going on.

Good thing we are baseball fans. We took a trip up the turnpike and caught an Oklahoma City Dodgers game. And even though they came out on the short end, we did have a good time.

In a few weeks we are going to load up and make the trip to Arlington, Texas, to check out the new ballpark down there. I have been in both of the Ranger’s older stadiums and want to catch a game in the A/C!

Now the good thing is we have reached the time of year where some of our high school sports can start to practice. Softball, volleyball and cross country get things started first as they can start their practices on July 15, then start playing games as early as Aug. 8

Football will not be far behind as they can start their regular season practices on Aug. 8. Zero-week games can be played on August 25-27, and for those who chose not to play zero-week, games can start on Sept. 1. Elgin Owls will start their season on Sept. 2 when they travel to Anadarko to take on the Warriors.

See, it is about that time!

As always, stay safe and healthy.
