Dog Days of Sports
Dog Days of Sports
What do you do when it is so hot outside that even being outside becomes a chore?
The Farmers’ Almanac says that the official “dog days of summer” are from July 3 to August 11. I am thinking, like everything else these days, these times may be changing as well.
I know a lot of people like spending time at the lake or floating down the Illinois River, but those types of things hasn’t been my go-to since I was in high school. But I did find some interesting events happening soon that I am going to share.
Mangum, Oklahoma will have their rodeo on June 17 and 18 followed the Chickasha Rodeo next weekend. July 8 and 9, Carnegie have their time in the rodeo arena.
Speaking of rodeos there was an announcement out of Oklahoma City this week that we will have a Professional Bull Riding team in the Sooner State. The Oklahoma Freedom, Oklahoma City’s first-ever professional bull riding team, will debut inside Paycom Center on Sept. 16-18.
For all you sprint car fans, Lawton Speedway will be hosting the ASCS Sooner Region sprints this Saturday along with the USRA Limited Modifieds, USRA Factory Stocks and the always exciting Mini Stocks. Racing will start at 8:00 p.m.
Buckle down and find something fun and safe to do during these scorching days, and as always stay safe and healthy.
