Cache took on the Chickasha Fightin’ Chicks on Thursday, April 7. Drake Jones got the scoring started for the Bulldogs when he hit a sac fly to score Gabe Diaz. After being held scoreless for two innings, Chickasha scored six runs to tie the game and take the lead. Cache responded when Kenyen Hayes drove a triple into the corner for 2 RBIs to chip into the deficit. The Fightin’ Chicks answered back with four runs of their own to lengthen the lead back out. After getting to third base Colton Hill scampered home on a passed ball to plate a run for the Bulldogs. Colton Rother then drove in a run to cut the lead down to five runs in the fifth inning. Chickasha responded with five runs capped off by a walkoff home run to earn the run rule victory. Cache made the trip down Highway 7 to Marlow to take on the Outlaws in a district battle. Marlow scored one run in the first inning to take the early lead. Gabe Diaz answered back for the Bulldogs with an RBI single in the top of the third inning to tie up the game. The Outlaws answered right back with four runs to take the lead back. Cache chipped back into the lead when Colton Rother doubled in a run to make it 4-2. The Outlaws stepped on the gas in the fifth inning scoring seven runs to take the run-rule victory. The Bulldogs hosted the Outlaws the next day looking to salvage a series split. Marlow jumped out to an early lead again, scoring one run in the top of the first inning. Marlow doubled their lead with a run in the top of the third inning. Keegan Fink drove in a run in the fourth inning to cut the lead in half. Marlow answered back promptly with three runs in the fifth inning to stretch the lead back out. The Outlaws pulled the lead farther out with two runs in the top of the sixth inning to make it 7-1. Cache came to life in the sixth inning when Fink drove in his second run of the game to make it 7-2. Marlow was able to get that run back in the top of the seventh inning and then slammed the door for the victory to sweep the doubleheader.
