OKC 88 - Houston 90

OKC 84 - Orlando 81

OKLAHOMA CITY – After finishing 2-1 in the short Salt Lake City Summer League, the Oklahoma City Thunder pushed on to Las Vegas to participate in another summer league.

The Thunder first squared off against the Houston Rockets, and a back-and-forth first quarter saw the Thunder take the lead, capped off by an 8-0 OKC run.

The Rockets had the upper hand in the second quarter, which allowed them to generate a five-point lead at halftime. Much like the first half, in the third quarter both offenses were hot and heavy trading blows back and forth. Once the dust settled the Thunder held a narrow one-point lead heading into the final frame.

This game came down to the wire. The Rockets took a late lead and after OKC point guard Josh Giddey’s last second shot fell short. Houston was able to pull off the victory.

Oklahoma City looked to rebound as they took on the Orlando Magic.

The Thunder jumped out to a massive lead after the first quarter leading by 17 at the break.

A solid Magic second quarter saw Orlando cut the deficit back down to nine at the half.

Both teams settled in during the third quarter and traded blows back and forth. OKC was able to capitalize on the slowing tempo and take an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter.

With 03:31 left to play, the Magic rallied back and tied the game at 77.

The Thunder cranked up the tempo and was able to take an 84-78 lead before the Magic game roaring back, setting themselves up with a chance to tie or win on final possession.

OKC forced a missed shot. Orlando got the rebound and kicked to the corner for what looked like an open three-pointer.

A great defensive closeout by OKC forced a missed shot which allowed the Thunder to claim the victory.
