Speedway summer standings

LAWTON – With two months left to race, Lawton Speedway is hitting the halfway point in the season but there’s still a long way to go in the points.

Here’s how it stands at the halfway mark: 

IMCA RaceSaver Sprints: Jeremy Allen in the 17A is leading with 624 points, according to Lawton Speedway’s June 25, 2022, report. The 13C machine of Brady Courtney is trailing in second place by only 18 points. In third place, Cody Whitworth, of Oklahoma City, is 27 points back the leader. In fourth and fifth places are Duane Baker and Gary Owens, respectively.

USRA Modified Division: With 495 points, Chris Hilliard, in the 41 machine, is leading in the standings. The 3c of Cary Cullins is trailing by 11 points. Jason Hillard in the 07 is in third place trailing the leader by 16. James Reed and David Tanner are respectively holding the fourth and fifth positions. 

USRA Limited Modifieds: Josh Cournoyer, out of Wichita Falls, Texas, leads the standings with 992 points. The 132 racer of Shane Little is in second place, only behind by 110 points. Third place is the 09R of Race Elliot. Fourth and fifth places belong to the 96 machine of Daniel Cox and the 76 of Timmy Johnson.

Mini Stocks: Leader Shane Henning, in his 19 machine, has 995 points, according to the June 18 report. Hot on his heels and only 11 points back is the reigning track champion Dakota Davies. Holding on to third place, just 32 points behind Henning, is Brian Stotler. Dustin Southerland claims fourth place and fifth place belongs to Carl Mitchell. 

Wingless Limited Sprints: Claiming 736 points, T.J. Herrell is leading the points in the once again. Trailing by 125 points, Jimmy Smith is in second place, and 126 points back is the 29B of Matthew Reimer. Michael Spencer is in fourth place and Kody Kastner is in fifth place.

USRA Tuners: Out of Iowa Park, Texas, Kollin Teafatiller is leading with 432 points, according to the June 11 standings. In second place, only six points out of first, is Kooper Teafatiller. Jacob Alfred is 10 points back in third place. A.J. Little is in fourth place, and Joseph Brown is in fifth place. 

USRA Factory Stocks: With 890 points, John Nemetz leads the pack. Second place belongs to Eric Kimbro (37 points behind Nemetz). In third, 76 points behind is Chris Linares. Bobby Miller is in fourth place and David Shipman is in fifth place, according to the June 25 standings.
