LAWTON – Lawton Speedway hosted their annual Texas on June 25, where all residents can get into the races free with proof of Texas residency.
IMCA RaceSaver Sprints
In the IMCA RaceSaver Sprints, Jermey Allen’s 17A started on the outside pole and was able to take the victory in Heat 1.
In the second heat, Duane Baker took the green flag and checkered flag in first place to win.
In the A-Main Allen in the 17A machine started on the outside pole and just as in the heat race, he took over the top spot and did not let it go to take the victory.
Joe Bob Lee slid back from the pole but was able to salvage a second-place finish. Cody Whitworth started in the third position and finished in the third position to round out the podium.
USRA Modified
In the USRA Modified first heat, Shane Little in 132 started in fourth and worked his way up to take the victory.
Heat 2, Race Elliott started on the outside pole and found a way to take the victory. In the feature, Robert Elliott rolled out in second place and took the lead and never looked back to take the win. Race Elliott finished second to make a father-son 1-2 finish. Tyler Webb in the 56W was able to finish third place to round out the top 3.
Wingless Limited Sprint
In the only heat race for the Wingless Limited Sprint raining track champion TJ Herrell made a charge from sixth to first to take the victory.
In the A-Main, Herrell showed his dominance again – this time going from fourth place to take the lead and ultimately get the victory.
Jimmy Smith fell back one spot but held on to take second place and the 29B of Matthew Reimer was able to round out the podium in third place.
USRA Factory Stocks
In the USRA Factory Stocks, Altus’ Chris Linares was able to take the victory all the way from fourth place in the first heat.
In Heat 2, youngster Koby Adams took the victory after starting on the outside pole.
In the A Feature, 3L driver Chris Linares started on the pole and drove away with the victory. Stephen Torrez in the 6 machine took second place. And Bobby Miller in the 02, rolled out in the eighth position and worked his way to place third.
