LAWTON – Racers at Lawton Speedway continued the weekly points series when they took the track on June 18.
USRA Limited Modified: In heat one, Robert Elliott took the victory after starting in the second position. After working his way up from the third position, Josh Cournoyer’s and his No. 41 machine took the checkered flag in heat two. In the final Limited Modified race of the night, Mitchell Henson’s 9H claimed the victory.
In the feature, Shane Little’s No. 132 started from the pole and never looked back to take the victory. Cournoyer came in second, and Robert Elliott rounded out the podium in third place.
Mini Stocks: Shane Henning and his No. 19 machine took the checkered flag to win heat one. In heat two, Brian Stotler started on the outside pole and slid up one position to take the victory. Last but not least, Dakota Davies’ No. 69 slid up three spots and won heat race number three.
ASCS Sprints: In the 25-lap A-Main, Carl Mitchell took his No. 42 car from seventh to first to take the victory. Shane Henning finished second, and Scott Toft came in third.
USRA Factory Stocks: In heat one, John Nemetz started in third and worked his way up to take the victory. In the second heat, Johnathan Jarvis started on the pole and never looked back taking the win.
In the feature, Jarvis and his 78 Factory Stock started on the outside pole and was able to gain a spot and take the victory. Dustin Southerland gained four positions to come in second, and Nemetz gained one spot to finish third.
ASCS Sooner Region Sprint Cars: In the main attraction of the night, Kade Morton, of Coweta, started the heat one in first and never looked back to take the win. In the second heat Steven Shebester, of Mustang, also started first and never gave the lead away to take the checkered flag.
In the feature, Sean McClelland, of Tulsa, slid up from the third position to take the victory. Whit Gastineau, of Moore, took second and Coweta’s Chance Morton charged up five spots to third place and round out the podium.
