Health care professionals with the District 5 Southwest Oklahoma County Health Departments will have a mobile wellness unit visiting Sterling on June 23.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., staff members will test:
- Glucose levels.
- Cholesterol levels.
- HDL (high-density lipoprotein) levels.
- Blood pressure levels.
- Blood lead levels.
- Sexually transmitted infections.
Community members also may get:
- Fluoride varnishing.
- COVID-19 tests.
- Flu tests.
- Pneumonia/flu/COVID-19 vaccinations.
In addition, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) supplemental nutrition will be available to those who qualify. To schedule an appointment for WIC services, call Comanche County Health Department at (580) 248-5890.
With the exception of WIC services, no appointments are necessary for services provided by the mobile unit.
The mobile unit will be stationed next to the Dollar General store, located at 1 South 5th Avenue, Sterling.
Oklahoma has 68 county health departments and two independent city-county health departments serving 77 counties. District 5 includes Beckham, Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kiowa, Tillman and Washita counties.
