If the rain stays away, the College Softball World Series will start in Oklahoma City this week at Hall of Fame Stadium.
The Big XII will be sending three of the eight teams to OKC this year. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas all won their Super Regionals to advance to the series. The Lady Sooners will be the odds on favorites as they have gone 54-2, but don’t count anyone out this time of year.
The Big XII men just completed their conference tournament with the Oklahoma Sooner men beating Texas to win the Championship.
Five Big 12 programs were selected to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. No. 7 Oklahoma State and No. 9 Texas each earned the right to serve as regional hosts, with Oklahoma, TCU and Texas Tech in the field of 64.
Regional play begins on Friday, June 3. The Texas and Oklahoma departing to the SEC news is heating up again, so you have to wonder how much longer we will see those programs competing in the Big XII.
