From Zero to Sixty
You know the old saying that time flies when you are having fun?
Well here we are again almost at the end of another high school sports season. All the Spring sports are fine tuning their games and getting ready for Districts and Regionals, hoping that a nice big gold ball is at the end of their rainbows.
Spring football and summer camps will be on our doorsteps before we know what hit us and then I will be counting down the days until football season kicks off once again!
As most of you know another Spring hobby of mine is dirt track racing. I have turned a wrench or two in my days and still love making it out to the track.
Lawton Speedway has got their season into high gear with three shows already under their belts for the year. The World of Outlaws made it town only to have the show rained out before they could get the cars on the track. WoO and Lawton officials are still working on a make-up date for the show. Saturday, April 16 the track will host the United Sprint League non-wing springs along with Factory stocks, Limited Mods, Tuners and the always exciting Mini Stocks. Hot laps start at 7:00 p.m. with racing starting at 7:30 p.m. I have heard rumors that the Easter Bunny will be making a stop by the track as well.
