Cub Scout Pack 4185 and Troop 9185 handed out Scouting for Food bags Nov. 9. Those bags will be picked up Nov. 14.
For those wishing to participate in the program, bags may contain only nonperishable items. No glass items are permitted. Bags may be left on the front porch Saturday, Nov 14. Scouts will pick up bags after 9 a.m. but before noon. Alternatively, bags may be placed in a box at Williams Foods or Dollar General at Elgin. For those who did not receive a bag but would like to donate nonperishable food items, simply drop off a donation either at Williams Foods or Dollar General in Elgin in the box marked “Donations.” Donations of nonperish- able food items and all proceeds will go to the Elgin United Methodist Church to support the food pantry.
One in six Americans struggle with hunger. Scouts encourage area residents to give cheerfully, and they thank you for your donation.
Parents, if you have a Kindergarten through nineth-grade male or female and wish to get them involved in Scouting, call or text Angie Brandt at (580) 512- 5192. Scouting provides ands-on experience with camping, hiking, social skills and life skills that help Scouts through the rest of their life.
This food drive is spon- sored by local BSA Cub Pack 4185 and Troop 9185.
