STERLING — Senior Emma Nunley walked to the scorer’s table, hugged her coach and accepted a professionally stitched basketball with some important words on it. The message on the ball read, “Emma Nunley, 1,000 points, 2023.

Tigers steamroll Cement 77-20

CEMENT – Fifteen Tigers scored points Tuesday night as Sterling rolled past Cement 77-20 in a game that backups played the majority of the time. “We came out and started hot,” Sterling head coach Brett Parrish said. “We had several players get buckets early on.

STERLING – Sterling’s Lady Tigers rebounded from a devastating loss last week to post a big 71-24 victory over Cement Tuesday night. Four days earlier, Sterling was beaten down by No. 4 Cyril, 75-33, in a Class A game.

STERLING – Sterling’s Lady Tigers rebounded from a devastating loss last week to post a big 71-24 victory over Cement Tuesday night. Four days earlier, Sterling was beaten down by No. 4 Cyril, 75-33, in a Class A game.

Central hands Sterling first loss of season, 44-32

STERLING – A stronger, taller Central High team held a four-point halftime lead and never looked back while handing the Sterling Tigers their first loss of the season 44-32 Tuesday night.

Lady Tigers sweep past Central High 55-22 for third straight win

STERLING – Emma Nunley tallied a game-high 22 points as the Sterling Lady Tigers breezed to a 55-22 win over the Central High Bronchos Tuesday night. Sterling, 4-1, won its third consecutive game in relatively easy fashion jumping out to a 15-8 first-period lead.

Calumet holds off late Sterling rally to post 11-8 win

STERLING – A four-run rally in the sixth inning fell short Tuesday as Calumet held off Sterling to capture an 11-8 win. Trailing 11-4, Sterling used two singles, two Calumet errors, a fielder’s choice and two batters who were hit by pitches to score four runs.

Lady Tigers slide past No. 3 Cyril, 4-3

STERLING – Sterling squeezed out a 4-3 win over No. 3 ranked Cyril last Friday despite getting only three hits and committing five errors. “That’s just the way it went,” Sterling head softball coach Marty Curry said. “We were luckier than they were.
