Lady Tigers sweep past Central High 55-22 for third straight win

STERLING – Emma Nunley tallied a game-high 22 points as the Sterling Lady Tigers breezed to a 55-22 win over the Central High Bronchos Tuesday night. Sterling, 4-1, won its third consecutive game in relatively easy fashion jumping out to a 15-8 first-period lead.

County OKs $240K grant for Family Promise

LAWTON – Family Promise of Lawton, a homeless shelter that assists families in need, will receive a $250,342.36 grant from Comanche County for various projects. The Comanche County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the grant.

City seeking authors for upcoming festival

LAWTON – The Lawton Farmers Market, the Lawton Public Library and the Arts and Humanities Division will host the Books & Brew Author Festival to showcase local authors and their work. The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Lawton Farmers Market, 77 SW 4th St.

Comanche County Republicans to meet

LAWTON – The Comanche County Republican Party will hold their regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 at the Oklahoma Blood Institute, 211 SW A Ave., in Lawton. Those who attend will hear from local candidates.
