OCRS Sprints invade the Lawton Speedway

LAWTON – Lawton Speedway was invaded by the Oil Capital Racing Series on Saturday, July 9.

USRA Limited Modifieds: Kyle Angel’s 18X, out of Chickasha, took the victory in Heat 1. Wichita Falls’ Jason Alexander won Heat 2. In the A feature, Josh Cournoyer’s and his 41 took the victory after starting in the third position. Coming in second was Jason Hilliard’s 52H. Rounding out the podium was Fort Cobb’s Jayman Gregory in his 5G.      

Mini Stocks: Points leader Shane Henning in the No. 19 started on the pole and drove away to take the Heat 1 victory. In the second heat, reigning track champion Dakota Davies started out in sixth place and drove all the way to the front to take the checkered flag. In the A Main, Davies, who started third, drove his way into the lead and to take the victory. Henning started second and stayed the same throughout, rolling across the line as runner-up. The No. 5 machine of Dustin Southerland started at the pole and fell back to third place by the end.

USRA Factory Stocks: Mason Linares’ No. 3, out of Altus, took the Heat 1 victory. In Heat 2, Jose Salcido, also from Altus, pulled off the victory. In the A Main, Chris Linares in 3L started at the pole and drove away to take the win. John Nemetz in his No. 30 machine drove from fifth to second in the feature. To round out the podium the Salcido’s No. 11 started and finished in the third position.

Oil Capitol Racing Series: Heat 1 saw Tanner Conn out of Oklahoma City, take the victory. The local kid, Joe Bob Lee, in his No. 5 machine took the victory.

 In the third and final heat, it was Blake Edwards’ 17E took the victory.

In the B feature, Rees Moran, Jax Redline, Brayden Voigt, Dillion Laden, Whit Gastineau, and Ryan Dean all secured transfer spots in the A Main.

In the A-Main, Steven Shebester’s 16S rolled out on the outside pole and wheeled his way to the victory. Blake Edwards came in second place, and in 20S, Sheldon Barksdale rounded out the podium’s third place.
