A few weeks ago, I found myself in a unique situation. I had been invited to be a guest speaker to a group. To say I was nervous was an understatement.

After a busy summer of self-discovery, adventures, and healing, I am ready for a few quiet moments at home.

I would venture to guess that each of us have had more challenges over the past few years than at any other point in our lives.

How often have we looked in the mirror and wondered how much worse we could look? We judge our scars, wrinkles, and gray hair with a harshness lacking the appreciation of the story they told.

For me, turning 40 was monumental. I was so excited to hit the milestone – to leave my thirties behind.

It’s funny how I thought that as I grew up, learning lessons would become a thing of the past.
